The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has donated one 500kva/33kv transformer to Agulu Community, Anaocha Council Area in replacement of the completely burnt one and other power installations around Golden Tulip – Agulu Lake Hotel.
It will be recalled that a petrol tanker laden with PMS product had on Thursday, 26th November, 2020 lost control around Agulu Lake while descending the slope and caught fire. Consequently, both private and public buildings, infrastructures were razed by the inferno.
The Governor who was represented at the mini handing over ceremony by the Honourable Commissioner for Public Utilities in Anambra State, Engr. Emeka Ezenwanne described the incident as unfortunate but thanked God that no life was lost.
He said that Governor Obiano upon receiving news of the inferno and damages caused directed that a new transformer be immediately installed in the area to ensure that the people enjoy the improved power supply in the state.
Responding on behalf of the community and an APGA Chieftain, Chief Ben Obi commended Governor Obiano for his quick response pointing out that it takes a leader in tune with the masses to do what Obiano is doing in Anambra State.
