ANSAA Removes Illegal Posters, Billboards In Anambra

Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, ANSAA, Enforcement Team has removed posters and billboards, indiscriminately pasted at various locations across the state.

ANSAA also pulled down unpaid bill boards, as defaulters had been served demand notices which they failed to comply with.

The Agency also noted that ultimatum given to political parties, business owners, churches among others to pay their ANSAA levies or mount their billboards appropriately ended on December 5, without compliance.

Places visited include Kwata Flyover axis of the Enugu-Onitsha Express Way, Awka, Government House, Afor-Igwe Umudioka, Nimo, and Abagana Communities.

Addressing newsmen after the exercise, the leader of the team, Mr. Chijioke Agbanyim, pointed out that the law establishing the Signage Act 2010, made it mandatory for any person wishing to place signage and advertisement materials anywhere in the state to get written approval from the agency and follow lay down processes.

Mr. Agbanyim said that the agency expects maximum cooperation from individuals or organizations in the registration of their billboards and payment of campaign posters.

He advised those yet to pay to comply, to avoid removal of their billboards.

The Anambra State Signage & Advertisement Agency controls outdoor structures for signage and advertisements as well as structure locations, ownership and operations.
