Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has solicited partnership with Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA) in the development of the State
The Governor made the call during a meeting with Executives and Members of ASMATA held at Rojenny Tourist Village-Oba, Idemili South Local Council.
The Governor stressed the importance of collaboration, especially as regards Internal Revenue generation.
He revealed that 99% of the state’s finances are in private hands, while the remaining 0.02% are in the hands of Government.
“To make this vision a reality, we will all work together. Government cannot complete the task on its own; each and every one of you must play a part.”
In addition to cleaning and planning the market environment, Soludo stated, “We will start cleaning up all drainages as we are about to hire those who will sweep our streets.”
The Governor tasked them on maintaining the markets and urged them to report anyone building arbitrarily without permit.
“We’ll start designing contemporary markets with contemporary fire protection systems so that visitors from other states and other parts of the world can be proud of our marketplaces.” Governor Soludo further stressed
He called on all the ASMATA Central Executives and women leaders, both elected and caretakers, to support APGA in the upcoming election.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of ASMATA, Chief Humphrey Anuna, recalled the good works of the Governor for the people.
