Reproductive health problems are a leading cause of ill health and death for women and girls of childbearing age in developing countries.
Poor women suffer differently from unintended pregnancies, unsafe abortion, maternal death and disability, sexually transmitted infections and related problems.
According to the United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA, which is the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency, young people are also extremely vulnerable, facing disproportionately high HIV rates as well as barriers to reproductive health information and care.
As the women all over the world are celebrated in March, UNFPA is committed to achieving gender equality and empower all women and girls and also ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights.
