Gov. Soludo At COOUTH, Advocates Better Opportunities For Nigerian Doctors To Reduce Brain Drain

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has urged Nigerian leaders to strive to develop the country, create better opportunities and an environment where doctors and other medical professionals can thrive.

Governor Soludo was speaking at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka, during the 2024 induction of 70 medical graduands of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University College of Medicine.

He said this was necessary to drastically reduce the rate brain drain in the medical and other professional fields.

The Governor, represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, restated the commitment of his administration towards remodeling and transforming the education sector of the state.

He assured that the state university will not be an exception in both infrastructure and human development.

Speaking Earlier, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Professor Kate Omenugha, who commended the Governor for the various interventions in the education sector, drew the attention of the government and wealthy individuals to the pressing need for more infrastructure in the university to accommodate more medical students.

In a remark, the Provost of the College, Professor Lawrence Ikeakor, asked the new graduands to approach the medical profession with caution, stick to its tenets, as well as endeavour to consult senior colleagues when confused.

The Provost also encouraged them to strive to make remarkable impact in the medical  profession.
