Anambra Assembly Committee On Works To Expose Contractors Executing Shoddy Road Projects

The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works has expressed dismay over the low quality jobs some contractors handling road projects are doing after being mobilized with tax payers’ money.

It threatened to
expose such contractors who are doing shoddy jobs.

Chairman of the Committee on Works and lawmaker representing Njikoka One constituency in the state Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Timothy Ifedioramma, disclosed this in a chat with journalists said such substandard jobs contravene the 20 years agreement on roads being constructed across Anambra state.

The Committee’s oversight functions revealed that while some contractors complied with the contractual obligations as it concerned specifications and texture of the roads, others indulged in sharp practices as observed by the committee.

It therefore warned such contractors to ensure that they adhere to the stipulated agreements.
