In a significant victory for security forces, two notorious armed bandit leaders, Baldo and Baban Yara, along with numerous of their accomplices, have been neutralized by Nigerian troops.
These warlords were responsible for orchestrating the movement and exchange of kidnapped victims within camps located in the Zamfara/Katsina States axis, inflicting terror and instability in the region.
According to a defense intelligence source, the terrorists met their demise in a decisive military operation conducted on Saturday along the Zamfara/Katsina axis. Troops engaged the terrorists at the Aliero West axis, resulting in the elimination of the two bandit kingpins and 28 of their associates.
The military, in its intensified efforts, aims to eradicate criminal elements from the North West region, ensuring a conducive environment for farmers to carry out their agricultural activities without fear or hindrance.
A local source embedded within the troops as a security volunteer emphasized the swiftness and thoroughness of the operation, leaving no terrorist unscathed.
This successful operation marks a significant step forward in the ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability to the affected areas, demonstrating the commitment of Nigerian troops to combating insurgency and ensuring the safety of civilians.
