Anambra State Government has come forward to address false claims circulating online regarding the Ochanja-Iweka Road project.

According to an official statement released by the government on Tuesday, recent misinformation on social media and mainstream platforms depicted a portion of the road washed out due to flooding.
The government has categorically refuted these claims, stating that the viral video is misleading.

In a statement made available by Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the Government, the government clarified that the section in question is part of an ongoing construction project and was affected by heavy rainfall on Monday.

The government emphasized that the road remains under construction, with work continuing even during adverse weather conditions.

Christian Aburime said that the brief vulnerability of the affected section is attributed to insufficient curing time before the heavy rain, and a drainage issue.

The government urged the public to disregard the misinformation campaign accompanying the video, calling it an attempt to spread fake news while the Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure projects.
