
Sunday, April 7th was World Health Day, and the wife of Anambra State Governor , Mrs. Nonye Soludo, seized the opportunity to express her support for a law that ensures everyone’s right to good health.
Mrs. Soludo stated that health is a fundamental right that should be accessible and affordable to all members of society, regardless of their social class. She emphasized that the implementation of the right health law would empower individuals, particularly women and children, to live healthily, reduce diseases and mortality rates, and take action when their rights are violated.
According to report, the current global health crisis requires a fresh approach to solutions, including prioritizing investments in the health sector and supporting research in various health backgrounds.
The theme of this year’s World Health Day, “My Health, My Right,” calls for a collective commitment from all stakeholders to understand the importance of health in human existence and make the necessary investments and regulations to make it accessible, affordable, and effective for all citizens.
In Anambra State the government, under the present administration has expressed committment to develop the state’s health sector to be globally competitive through investing heavily in the sector through service delivery, human capital development, infrastructure, and giving primary health care a boost to perform optimally. The Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme has also been made effective and affordable, providing more residents with coverage in essential health services and improving the state’s status on the national health index.
