Oando PLC has firmly denied recent social media claims that it owns a blending plant in Malta and imports dirty fuel into Nigeria through Raz Hansir Oil Terminal Limited.
Company Secretary Ayotola Jagun stated that thorough investigations, including a search of the Malta Business Registry, found no evidence of the alleged company’s existence.
Oando emphasized that it has never held shares or interests in any Maltese company.
The firm asserts that these allegations are baseless and intended to mislead the public and stakeholders.
As a publicly listed company, Oando ensures all corporate actions are transparently declared.
The controversy follows comments by Dangote Group President Aliko Dangote, who claimed some Nigerian National Petroleum Company officials own blending plants in Malta.
Meanwhile, NNPC’s Group CEO, Mele Kyari, has also denied owning any such plant.
Oando calls on the press to verify information before publication to prevent misinformation among investors and stakeholders.
