The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor has tasked EndSARS protesters to protest intelligently and eschew violence.
Bishop Ezeokafor made this known at St Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka in a media parley with journalists.
He concurred that protesters are eligible to protest according to their rights as citizens while affirming that he had gotten reports of the inhumane acts of the now defunct Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS)
The Bishop stated that Nigerians deserve better and applauded the youths for asking for good governance. He admonished that it is risky to ignore the youths as they are full of energy and ready to risk their lives for what they want.
He , however , called on the protesters to retreat and wait for the outcome of the actions the government has taken , especially as the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu has disbanded SARS across the country.
He reiterated that though the SARS operatives deviated from their initial objectives, the youths should ask for a change in an intelligent manner.
