The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC, has announced that it will begin the first phase of liquidation dividend payments for uninsured depositors of the defunct Heritage Bank in April 2025.
In a statement on Sunday, NDIC’s Acting Head of Communication, Hawwau Gambo, explained that the payments will be made on a pro-rata basis, in line with Section 72 of the NDIC Act 2023.
This follows the Central Bank of Nigeria’s revocation of Heritage Bank’s license on June 3, 2024.
The NDIC assures depositors that progress has been made in asset realization and debt recovery to facilitate payments. Affected depositors are urged to verify their account details to avoid payment delays.
