The Enugu State Government has cancelled this Saturday’s environmental sanitation exercise to allow smooth conduct of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Secretary to the State Government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia, announced the decision on Tuesday, stating that the move ensures candidates are not hindered from reaching exam centres.

While movement restrictions are lifted for the day being April 26, residents are still encouraged to clean their surroundings.

Over 2 million candidates nationwide are expected to sit for the UTME, which begins April 24. Of this number, more than 41,000 are below the age of 16.
