22 secondary schools in Anambra State have been mapped out for the pilot programme of the Smart Learn Anambra initiative.

The initiative which has been officially launched by the Anambra State government will involve 22 schools across the state, which will mark a bold and strategic step toward transforming the education sector and deepening digital literacy.

The Managing Director of Anambra ICT Agency, Mr Chukwuemeka Agbata, stated this in a press release to journalists on Wednesday, said the innovative program is designed to empower both students and teachers by integrating modern technology into classrooms.

“This innovative program is designed to empower both students and teachers by integrating modern technology into classrooms, in line with the state’s vision for a tech-driven future.

“The selected pilot schools will be equipped with state-of-the-art digital tools, e-learning platforms, and interactive content, giving learners and educators access to resources that will enhance teaching and learning experiences.”

It was gathered that one school each was picked from the 21 local government areas of the state for equipping.

Agbata said: “The Smart Learn Anambra initiative is a testament to the unwavering commitment of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, to prioritize education and technology as cornerstones of sustainable development in the state.

“At its core, Smart Learn Anambra is focused on bridging the digital divide—ensuring that no student is left behind, regardless of location or background.

“As the pilot phase unfolds, the government is optimistic about scaling the program to reach even more schools in the near future.

“By fostering an engaging and forward-thinking learning environment, the initiative seeks to prepare students for future careers, particularly in areas such as technology, science, and digital innovation.”
