Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has accused the Nigerian judiciary of deep-rooted corruption. Speaking at the NBA Law Week in Abuja, El-Rufai claimed many judges and lawyers are compromised, leading to biased rulings and justice only for the rich.
He criticized ex parte orders in political cases, accused the National Judicial Council of failure, and described judicial corruption as mainstream.
El-Rufai also opposed the use of voice votes by the National Assembly to approve the state of emergency in Rivers, calling it unconstitutional.
He urged the Bar to reflect, enforce discipline, and push for judicial reforms.
