Saudi authorities have arrested two women believed to be the wife and mother of Nigeria’s most notorious bandits’ leader, Ado Aliero. The women were picked up in Medina during an intelligence-led operation while living under false identities.
Aliero is infamous for leading deadly attacks and mass abductions across Zamfara and neighbouring states.
Nigerian security agencies are now collaborating with their Saudi counterparts, as the arrested women are suspected to hold vital intelligence on his movements and funding.
Their arrest is seen as a potential breakthrough in curbing transnational terror support.
