The United States Mission in Nigeria has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating floods that hit Niger State last week, claiming at least 151 lives and displacing over 3,000 residents.
In a statement posted on X, the US extended condolences to the victims and commended emergency responders for their ongoing efforts.
The floods destroyed more than 260 homes and damaged key infrastructure, including roads and bridges in Mokwa and Raba.
President Bola Tinubu has dispatched a delegation to assess the damage and support relief efforts. Meanwhile, state officials are calling for more federal and international aid to manage the growing humanitarian crisis.
