The Anambra State Government is set to introduce a code of conduct for its security agencies to ensure civility and accountability in their operations.

Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, made this known after the 13th State Executive Council meeting in Awka. The move follows recent incidents of rights abuse, including the fatal shooting of a girl by Agunechemba operatives.

Dr. Mefor said operatives of Agunechemba, Ocha Brigade, and the Anti-Touts Squad will undergo further training, after which the new code will be enforced.

Meanwhile, the council approved over ₦253 million for the construction of Onwurah Street in Awka, and announced the commissioning of the new Solution Market and Park in Ekwulobia.
