Federal Government Urges US to Engage Nigerians on Visa Policy Changes
The Federal Government has urged the United States to directly engage Nigerians whenever its visa laws or rules are reviewed. Information Minister Mohammed Idris made the appeal during a courtesy visit by US Ambassador Richard Mills in Abuja.

Idris stressed that clear communication is vital, as Nigerians frequently travel for business, education, tourism, and medical reasons. He assured continued collaboration to ensure proper information dissemination.

Ambassador Mills affirmed the US values its relationship with Nigeria and emphasized the importance of visa compliance. He warned against visa misuse, saying it could damage mutual trust and lead to serious consequences.
Both sides pledged to strengthen public awareness of visa regulations for smoother bilateral ties.
