Chief Barr. Prince Chukwudi Oli, popularly known as Oba Ezeafia and the APGA candidate for the Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha (DNA) Federal Constituency, has reiterated that his aspiration to represent the people is not driven by desperation for political power, but by a genuine and deliberate commitment to service, compassion and positive impact. He said his ambition is rooted in the conviction that political leadership should be about improving lives and creating opportunities for everyone.
Oba Ezeafia has consistently made this position known on several occasions, including during various Women’s August Meetings across the constituency, where he emphasized that he is intentional about seeing Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha work for everyone. According to him, his aspiration is not merely about occupying a political office, but about building a constituency where every community, family, youth, woman, child and elderly person can feel the impact of purposeful representation.
“I am not desperate for power; I am intentional about seeing Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha work for everyone. What matters to me is service and the positive impact we can make in the lives of our people. I have been doing my little part even without holding this office, and I believe that with a greater platform, we can do much more for our people,” Oba Ezeafia stated.
His record of intervention, he noted, reflects the philosophy behind his aspiration. Over time, Oba Ezeafia has supported children living with sickle cell disorder and contributed to efforts aimed at improving their health and wellbeing. He has also provided scholarships to students from different backgrounds, offered life-support assistance to people facing difficult circumstances and supported individuals and families in times of critical need. His interventions have also extended to infrastructure and community development, including support for road construction and other projects aimed at improving living conditions.
Beyond these interventions, Oba Ezeafia has also placed emphasis on the welfare of senior citizens, with monthly financial support to elderly people, while his empowerment initiatives have provided assistance and opportunities to individuals seeking to improve their livelihoods. These interventions, according to him, are not presented as a substitute for government responsibility, but as his personal contribution towards making life better for the people around him.
He maintained that his vision for the DNA Federal Constituency is one where representation is measured by tangible results rather than rhetoric.
“Leadership is about touching lives. It is about remembering the child who needs help, the student who cannot afford school fees, the elderly person who needs support, the young person looking for an opportunity and the family struggling to survive. If we have the capacity to help, we should help,” he said.
Oba Ezeafia therefore urged the people of Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha to support a new approach to representation anchored on intentional leadership, compassion, accountability and measurable development. He pledged that his focus would remain on building a DNA Federal Constituency that works for everyone, strengthening its voice at the National Assembly and using the opportunity of public service to expand the impact of the people-centred initiatives he has already begun.
