Abacha’s Family Mourns, As Son, Abdullahi, Suddenly Dies in Abuja
The family of former Nigeria’s Military Head Of State, late Sani Abacha, was thrown into mourning on Saturday, following the sudden death of one of his sons, Abdullahi Abacha.
Abdullahi, the second to the last son, was aged 36.
Family sources which confirmed the sad incident, said that the late Abacha died peacefully in his sleep at the family’s residence, at Nelson Mandela Street, Abuja.
“He was hale and hearty last night, but was found dead this morning. He died peacefully in his sleep,” the report said, adding that the funeral prayer was held by 4pm at the National Mosque, Abuja same Saturday.
Born in 1987, the deceased, who was just about 11 years when his father died in June 1998, was one of the nine children left behind by the late military leader.
