Agulu Peoples Union Women Wing has begun their August meeting , where they gather to discuss issues bordering on Parenting, Motherhood and Self development. The meeting started with prayers from Ven Benson Muoka at the central Palace on Saturday the 6th of August 2022.

Speaking to our correspondent, the woman leader Oriaku Chinyere Okisi narrated the needs and importance of the meeting to the women and how the women will improve in their duties at home and society especially the manner of the upbringing of their children and the importancet of women in their families as they are the pillars and builders in their homes.

Oriaku Okisi stated that henceforth, all their functions will be held at the central palace of Agulu. She thanked and appreciated all that came and promised to support the present administration of Chief Oliver Afamefuna PG, while charging all the mothers and women to use this medium to teach themselves what a good mother and woman should do, and will do their best to bring peace in Agulu, and Anambra in general.

The President general of Agulu People’s Union Chief Oliver Afamefuna in his support to the women,gifted them with money and charged them to be the good women which they are to their households. Agulu town also let them know of the big empowerment projects coming to her people and promised more will come with their support., He also mentioned creating three big major markets in Agulu that will attract business men and women from far and near.

According to Chief Oliver Afamefuna the empowerment will hold on the last Saturday of August as Evang Ugochukwu Okoye , also known as Ugolanson will empower over 236 people which 200 youths will get one million naira each while 36 others that are elders will get five hundred thousand naira and hundred thousand each, as such move to help the movement to make agulu drug free, cultism free, poverty free etc.

The PG has contracted those industrialists from Ariaria Aba in Abia state that will be in Agulu soon to teach the youths, both male and female on how to make and produce shoes, bags, t-shirts, caps etc. Chief Oliver thanked all that came to support the women financially and prayed that God will lead them back home safely.

Among dignitaries that graced the occasion were Sen Uche Ekwunife, Sen Victor Umeh, Hon Dozie Nwankwo, Prince Dr Emeka Eze, Hon Ebere Ejiofor, Hon Njideka Oraedum, Sir Onyebuchi Okpala, Hon Nkechi Ogbuefi among others.
