The closed portion of the Amawbia axis of the Enugu- Onitsha dual carriage road has been temporarily opened to traffic.
The reconstruction work being carried out by MTN telecommunication limited spanned from Onitsha Bridge Head to Eighty-two Army Division, Enugu.
Speaking during a media briefing and opening ceremony at Amwabia, the Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Mrs. Patricia Igwebuike, said that Anambra State Government is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that Ndi Anambra are given the best of everything, including access roads, and thanked MTN and federal government for the road project, even as she advised commuters to use the roads carefully and wisely to avoid hard-i-known.
Speaking at the event, the Anambra State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Adeoye Irelwwusi, said that the partly completed portion records highest number of crashes; saying that with the opening of the road, crashes and traffic jam would be reduced on the road.
