
Akwu-kwu Community in Idemili South Council Area of Anambra State, has elected new executive to pilot the affairs of the Community for the next three years.
The election, held under tight security, supervised by officials of the State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, took place at the Community Primary School, Akwu-kwu.
The post of President General returned to the former PG, Uchenna Anayo, while the post of the Vice President General went to Azubike Umeadi, and Ifeanyi Obumneme, Secretary.
A practising journalist in Anambra State, Gab Alokwe, was also elected the Public Relations Officer, among others.
In his Acceptance speech, the President General, Mr. Uchenna Anayo, thanked the community for their support, promising to attract more development to the town, institute scholarships for deserving indigenes of the town as well as ensure repair of the damaged transformer.
On his part, the newly elected Vice President General? Engineer Azubike Umeadi, described the election as a huge success and promised to pool resources in order to empower the youths and contribute towards uplifting the town.
He called on the people of Akwu-kwu to give them their maximum support to enable them achieve their manifestos.
