- ‘The Full Economic Potential of Anambra West Will be Realised’ – Ozigbo Promises
Cheering crowds stormed the field of the Community Primary School, Mmiata Anam, Anambra West Council Area, as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) restarted its 21-local government tour on Saturday, October 23, 2021.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, Valentine Ozigbo, the PDP flag-bearer in the November 6 election, promised the people of Anambra West that his administration would ensure that the full economic potential of Anambra West is realised.
The respected business leader assured that if elected, his administration would end the devastating neglect of the area, noting that though Governor Willie Obiano came from the area, the people had suffered the worse neglect under his administration.
“Your brother is the sitting governor, and unfortunately, he has not delivered on his promise, and we cannot afford to give APGA another chance,” Ozigbo, a multiple-award-winning global CEO, declared.
“Before the PDP primary election, I visited this local government on numerous occasions, interacting with Ndi Anambra and understanding your unique needs.
“The result of our interactions is the master plan for the Agricultural hub we have embedded in the Ka Anambra Chawapu Manifesto.
“Anambra West will be the headquarters for agricultural production. We will assist farmers in this zone to achieve better harvest, improve road networks to increase market access, and ultimately advance to the processing of agricultural produce.
“Our government will develop healthcare, education, and improve the standard of living of Ndi Anambra.
“November 6 is a date with destiny, and I want you to take your destiny into your hands and ensure that we come out and make our votes count,” Ozigbo said.
In his remarks, the Vice-Presidential candidate of the PDP in the 2019 general election and immediate past governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, lamented the neglect that Anambra West has suffered for the past eight years, assuring the people Ozigbo will fulfil his promise to them.
“APGA has abandoned Anambra West for the past eight years. My administration did the last major road that was constructed in Anambra West,” Obi said.
“It is time for us to change that narrative, and I assure you that Ozigbo will fulfill his promises to develop Anambra West and make Ndi Anambra smile again.”
In her submission, Ozigbo’s running mate, Mrs Azuka Enemo, decried the state of infrastructure in Anambra West, expressing optimism that Ozigbo will ensure that the people feel the effect of true governance.
“This November, we have a chance to make things right. Our candidate, Valentine Ozigbo has a sterling track record of excellence, and I’m confident that together, Anambra will blossom again,” Mrs Enemo said.
Valentine Ozigbo is a nationally recognised peace advocate and philanthropist. He is the Founder of the Valentine Chineto Ozigbo (VCO) Foundation and Chairman of Feet ‘N’ Tricks International, Africa’s largest promoter of freestyle football.
In July 2021, Ozigbo unveiled Mrs Enemo, a seasoned public administrator and a two-time Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs as his running mate.
According to analysts, Ozigbo and Enemo present Ndi Anambra with the perfect combination of private and public sector experience needed to lead the charge for a new, progressive Anambra.
