Anambra Gov. Soludo Receives Torch Of Unity For 2022 National Sports Festival Billed For 28th Nov. 2022 In Asaba Delta State
Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has received the Torch of Unity for the 2022 National Sports Festival, billed for 28th November, 2022, in Asaba, Delta State.
The Director, National Sports and Para-Spors Commission, Mrs Amaka Ashiokwu, presented the Torch to the governor, at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Soludo assured that his administration will reposition the sports sector through adequate support.
Governor Soludo, represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, expressed happiness that the state will participate in the tournament, and promised that state government will give Anambra team all necessary support.
He urged the State Contingent to make Anambra State proud during the competition, and show the world that the state remains the Light Of The Nation.
Speaking after handing over the Torch to the governor, the Director, National Sports and Para-Sports, Mrs Ashiokwu, thanked the state government for the warm reception them, pointing out that the national event will contribute much in fostering peace and unity in the Nigerian-Nation .
In their separate speeches, the Chairman, Anambra State Sports Development Commission, Mr Patrick Onyedum, and Chairman, Anambra State Football Association, Chief Chikelue Iloanyasi, assured that Anambra team was well prepared to make the State proud in all the twenty games they will participate in, during the Sports Festival, which include football, athletics, volleyball, wrestling, handball, among others.
