Anambra Governor Committed To Sports Development- Says Sports Has Potential To Increase GDP, Other Benefits

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has expressed commitment towards recreating and rebuilding the sports economy in the state.
Governor Soludo stated this at the second edition of the Anambra Sport Solution Initiative finals held at the Awka City Stadium.
The Governor who revealed that the sports economy has the potential to increase the state GDP, among other benefits, commended all participants and winners at the various featured games.
According to the Governor, the competition is an important beginning, mainstreaming completion at the school, inter-school, local government and state levels, and expressed optimism that talents were identified to appear at both national and international spaces.
Speaking in an interview, the Chairman of Anambra Sports Commission, Mr. Patrick Onyedum, said that the initiative is in line with the manifesto of the present administration to identify and nurture talents, assuring that the harnessed talents would by deployed for maximum benefits to themselves and the society.
Contributing, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba, hinted that youth development is the heartbeat of the present administration, highlighting its various youth activities to include the Solution Innovation District, One Youth Two Skills, among others.
He called on more youths to take advantage of the opportunities given to them.
Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, President General of ASATU, Barr. Titus Akpudo, among others, were present at the event which featured, football match finals, race, medal and trophy presentations to different categories of winners, among other activities.
