Anambra Health Insurance Agency Promises Continuous Improved Service Delivery

Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), says it will continue to explore innovative ways to serve their enrollees better at all times.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the agency, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi, stated this during a sensitization road show in some streets and markets in Awka, Anambra State Capital.

He pointed out that the roadshow was to advocate and sensitize Ndi Anambra about the scheme, particularly the Shuttle bus drivers and tricycle riders who were recently given free health insurance premium by Anambra state government.

Dr. Onyemaechi maintained that in line with state government health policy for the citizens, the agency will continue to cross fertilize ideas with all critical stakeholders, as well as the ASHIA beneficiaries on the best ways to serve them better.

According to the ASHIA boss, the scheme which has become a reference point in Nigeria and a thing of pride to Ndi Anambra, will continue to live up to its mandate of ensuring affordable and accessible healthcare delivery at ease across the state, without out-of-pocket spending.

The Abia state Health Insurance Team who were on an understudy visit to ASHIA, also joined the road show to get a first hand experience on how ASHIA run their quarterly road show, so that they can replicate same in their state for enhanced service delivery.

Two members of Abia state delegation, Messrs. Daniel Onuoha and Ihemanma Chikodi, described ASHIA as an excellent scheme to uplift the health indices of the citizenry and promised that they would replicate what they have learnt during the visit in their state.

Earlier, the ASHIA Management had interfaced with the Desk Officers of accredited ASHIA healthcare providers in Anambra.

The meeting provided opportunity for ASHIA management to rob minds with accredited healthcare providers on how best to improve the services of the scheme.

According to Dr. Onyemaechi, the meeting was also to resolve and trash out loopholes created by the providers and complaints by enrollees against some healthcare providers in order to serve the enrollees better.
