The new Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has issued a stern warning against misconduct and unprofessional behavior within the Command.
In a recent meeting with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders, and Sectional Heads, CP Itam emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for any form of misconduct under his leadership.
During the meeting held at the Police Headquarters in Amawbia, CP Itam assured the people of Anambra that the Command would operate with transparency and an open-door policy.
Since assuming office on May 13, CP Itam has advocated for an intelligent-driven policing plan supported by technology and tactical operations in the state.
According to the State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, CP Itam reviewed the policing plan during the meeting and emphasized the importance of personnel positioning to enhance responsiveness to security challenges. He directed officers to embrace community policing principles based on trust, understanding, and partnership with the public to ensure safety and public order.
The CP reiterated His commitment to upholding professionalism and urged officers to demonstrate competence, good character, and courage in carrying out their duties. He emphasized the importance of an all-inclusive policing system that welcomes input from the public to guide decision-making processes.
