Anambra residents have been reminded that Saturday, November 26, that is today, is another environmental sanitation day.
Managing Director of the Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA) Mr. Mike Ozoemena, who stated this in Awka, also reminded the public, that it is a day set aside by the government for people to join in the cleaning their environment.
He encouraged Ndi Anambra to participate fully in the exercise; clean their surroundings and de-silt water channels around them.
The ASWAMA boss further reminded all that no human or vehicular movement will be tolerated between the hours of 7 am and 10 am.
The statement warned that defaulters would be apprehended and sanctioned by law enforcement agencies.
He further urged them to bag their wastes and keep them in front of their homes in line with the State Government’s policy on the door-to-door collection of refuse for onward evacuation by ASWAMA contractors.
The MD called on all citizens to join in the exercise to keep Anambra clean, green, prosperous and livable.
