Anambra State Government, through the Ministry of Basic Education has finalised arrangements to deploy technology in monitoring examinations.
The Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha, disclosed this while addressing Education Officers in the conference hall of the State Ministry of Basic Education, Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka.
The Commissioner said this is part of efforts to stamp out examination malpractices in schools.
The Commissioner hinted that Governor Willie Obiano has also approved installation of internet protocol cameras in examination halls of all public schools in Anambra State.
Professor Omenugha directed all private schools in the state to install internet protocol cameras in their examination halls, in order to be part of this revolution aimed at giving umu akwukwo Ndi Anambra the confidence that they need to face examinations without external aid.
Reacting to insinuations that some schools that aid and abate examination malpractice might resort to taking their students outside the state for examinations, Professor Omenugha warned that State Government would close schools operating in the state but do not take West African School Certificate exams in the state.
