Anambra state government has demonstrated that it is serious with the Sanitation program in the state which takes place every last Saturday of the month.
On Saturday, which was an Environmental Sanitation day, Anambra State Government led by Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo embarked on thorough environmental sanitation to enshrine cleanliness and proper hygiene in the State and also to promote a healthy, clean, and safer Anambra.
The enforcement agency of the State Government, Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra; Ocha Brigade, were on the streets of Awka, from Unizik Temp Site, through Gbalingba and Eke-Awka Market to ensure compliance to this month’s environmental exercise.
Many who failed to keep their surroundings clean and desilt drainage system were arrested and fined. Shop owners who disregarded the directive were asked to close, and their goods confiscated, to ensure their surroundings are kept clean.
