Anambra State Government Moves To Reposition TRACAS.

Anambra State Government says it wants to reposition its Transport Company, Transport Company of Anambra State, TRACAS, to make it more viable.

 The Commisioner for Transport, Honourable Afam Mbanefo, disclosed this during a meeting with the management of TRACAS, the second in two weeks.

The meeting held at the Conference Hall of Jerome Udoji Secretariate, Awka, discussed in details the historical challenges of TRACAS, with much emphasis on Job definitions of Officers in attendance.

Declaring the meeting open, Honourable Mbanefo requested for details on structural organogram  of TRACAS, details on  historical data and  operations of vehicles, as well as those at the Maintenance Section.

He further requested for detailed report on valuation of vehicles, daily transactions of TRACAS long Vehicles, explaining that they  needed all the information for the plans they  have for the Transport Company.

After extensive deliberations, backed by Power point presentation of  organogram and historical activities of TRACAS, the meeting resolved among other things, to set  up TRACAS Evaluation Team with members drawn from Audit Department,  Maintenance officers, etc .

Responding, the Managing Director of TRACAS, Mrs Ifeoma Madukasi, thanked the Commissioner for what she described as  the wonderful program  he has for TRACAS, in line with  Governor Willie Obiano’s vision.

She promised the cooperation of Team TRACAS in actualization the innovation to get TRACAS back on track.

In attendance were political appointees posted to TRACAS, Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Admin Officer, Unit heads in TRACAS among others.
