Anambra State Govt  Embarks On Development Of Green Value Estate To Tackle Housing Deficit

The Anambra State Housing Development Board has signed a contract with five firms towards developing Green Value Estate to ease the housing difficulties in the state.
According to reports, the contracting firms include Elson Construction Company, Anchor-Nuel resources, John Joe and partners.
Others are B and O limited and Paul-B Nigeria plc.

Signing the contract at the Housing Development Corporation Headquarters in Awka, the chairman of the Anambra State Housing Development Board, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Emeka Etiaba, said the reason for starting the contract now is to ensure due process was followed both in acquiring the land and contracting the project.

Barrister Etiaba explained that the new estate will have good road network, water, light, and other social amenities and called for collaboration among all the contractors to ensure standard is maintained.

On his part, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation, Architect Willie Okafor, said that they acquired one hundred and eighteen hectares of land for the development of Green Value Estate, noting that the project will be completed within one year.

He commended Governor Willie Obiano for his efforts in uplifting the living standard of the people.

While responding on behalf of other contractors, the chairman John Joe and partners, Engineer Mezie Okoye, promised to work as a team with his colleagues in order to build the best estate in the country.
