Governor Willie Obiano says power is the major challenge currently facing industries in the State. hence the need for the various steps already taken by his administration to achieve twenty-four hour uninterrupted power supply for the state through alternative power supply methods.
The governor stated this at a one-day training and interactive session organised for critical stakeholders in power and agricultural sectors on alternative power supply and export market support.
The event held in Agulu, Anaocha Council Area, was facilitated by the office of the Deputy Governor, and aimed at addressing critical issues facing the power sector, preservation of agricultural products, and exportation of the products to other parts of the world to create wealth both for the industrialists and the state.
This is in line with state government’s efforts towards ensuring twenty-four hour power supply and maintaining the status of the state as an agro products exporting state.
Governor Obiano, represented by his deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke, restated the readiness of the government to partner private bodies that would help in making things easier for industrialists as regards power supply.
In an address, the Commissioner for Public Utilities, Mr Emeka Ezenwanne, hinted that the present administration is making serious efforts to ensure two-four-seven uninterrupted power supply in the state, to be achieved through partnership with various private organizations.
The Commissioner expressed hope that the outcome of the one day interactive section would contribute to the actualization of the dream.
Various resource persons educated the participants on how to enjoy alternative power supply and exportation of their locally made products to other parts of world.
The event attracted industrialists from across the state.
