Anambra State Govt to Commence Online Verification of Pensioners

Governor Willie Obiano has directed that verification exercise be carried out for State Pensioners.

In a statement in Awka, Anambra Economic Think Tank Team maintained that an online approach has been adopted for the exercise in view of the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world, especially the retired citizens whom the exercise is targeted at.

According to the statement, the new approach involves the use of smart gadgets with internet connectivity such as mobile phones which will allow pensioners to be verified from anywhere in the world.

The statement maintained that the Pension verification portal is http://pensionverify.anambrastate.gov.ng/ and can also be obtained from the State and Local Government Pension Executives.

It stated that requirements for the online verification include: Presence of the national Identification Number, Voter’s Card Number, driver’s License Number, Bank verification Number, Pension Identification Number, Phone Number, Annual Pension Payable and a copy of the Pension Authority letter.

The statement informed that the verification portal will open from March 29 to April 12, 2021 adding that Sub-Treasuries will also be provided with devices to enable those with no access to smart phones do their verifications.

The statement disclosed that the verification is being carried out by the Anambra Economic Think Tank, advising the people to contact Ugochukwu Obiefuna on -08039354977, Nnedi Azolike- 08063882362, Chukwuma Abana- 08069509742 for further details.

It encourages family members of the deceased pensioners to report to the appropriate authorities accordingly to enable the State government pin them off the pension payroll.
