In a move to reclaim the state from criminal elements in the guise of protesters, Anambra state police command, in collaboration with other sister agencies in the state have embarked on intensive joint patrol on all areas of the state.
In a statement signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Mohammed, the action is as a result of the joint security management meeting with heads of other sister security agencies .
According to Haruna, the security agencies resolvesd to deal decisively with all acts of lawlessness, disruption of public peace which resulted to indiscriminate looting and damage of property and loss of lives in some parts of the state.
Therefore, legitimate means will be used to deal with all acts of lawlessness .
In the same vein, the commissioner of Police , John Abang expressed gratitude to Ndi Anambra and community leaders and vigilante groups for their solidarity in defence of their communities and urged them not to relent untill normalcy is returned.
He also implored the public to report any suspicious persons or hoodlums to the nearest Police Station or call 07039194332 for prompt response.
