Anambra State traditional rulers to partner Chaplain Corps Policing Explorers eradicate social vices in schools.
The traditional rulers made this known when the State CHAPOL paid them courtesy visit during their council meeting at the Government House, Awka.
The Chairman, Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council and the Obi of Onitsha, Obi Alfred Achebe, who spoke on behalf of other traditional rulers, commended members of the CHAPOL for their efforts aimed at eradicating social vices by educating students on the need to shun anti social activities in school.
He assured them that traditional rulers will study their operations to see areas they could render support to achieve desired results.
Responding, the Anambra State Commandant, CHAPOL, Commandant Joseph Ekwunife, explained that they had visited the Anambra State Association of Town Union, ASATU, then, deemed it necessary to to also pay a courtesy visit to the Royal Fathers to intimate them on their aims and objectives which include reducing social vices to the barest minimum in state schools.
He urged the traditional rulers to help vent the CHAPOL voices to the Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, as well as members of the National Assembly, as according him, CHAPOL is doing a good job.
Contributing, the Deputy Commandant, Administration, Chapol Okechukwu Beluonwu, expressed optimism that with the courtesy visit, the traditional rulers will help take their plights to the government as they have been working on 265 government schools since 2013 sponsoring themselves, hence the need for the traditional rulers to come to their aid.
