The Anaocha chapter of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) held its first-ever stakeholders’ summit at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Agulu on May 25, 2024. The event aimed to strengthen grassroots political engagement and featured the empowerment of 19 women, one from each ward in Anaocha, who each received 50,000 naira, presented by Hon. Engr. Ikeobi Ejioffor.
The summit began with a traditional prayer and the presentation of kola nuts by the Chairman of the Anaocha Traditional Rulers Council. In her keynote address, Dr. Mrs. Uju Nwogu, former Attorney General of Anambra State, emphasized the importance of vigilant candidate screening by party members to ensure electoral success and stability.
APGA Anaocha Chairman, Chief Anthony Ugorji, spoke about the summit’s goal to rejuvenate the party, re-engage disenchanted members, and adopt a door-to-door strategy for the upcoming gubernatorial election in November 2025. He pledged to work closely with Governor Prof. Charles Soludo and other stakeholders to secure financial support for empowering all 19 wards in Anaocha.
The summit was attended by several notable figures, including the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Barr JPC Anaeto; Hon. Chief Dozie Nwankwo; Chief Inno-Poch Chiekezie; Hon. Patrick Estate Onyedum, Sports Development Commission Chairman; and Hon. Afam Obidike, Commissioner for Health.
