ANCSDA Staff awarded “Certificate of Appreciation” by Governor Willie Obiano, for their achievements in the State under the recently ended World Bank Assisted Community and Social Development Project-Additional.

Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency (ANCSDA) Staff were last Friday, September 10, 2021, awarded “Certificate of Appreciation” by Governor Willie Obiano, for their achievements in the State under the recently ended World Bank Assisted Community and Social Development Project-Additional Financing (CSDP-AF).

The Communication Officer, ANCSDA, Mr Nnamdi Onuzulike, said the award ceremony which took place at the Conference Hall of the Agency office in Awka
was part of the proceedings of the 12th Statutory Board meeting of the Agency Board of Directors.

Governor Obiano represented by the Chairman of the Agency Board, Igwe Rowland Odegbo of Nteje, commended the Agency staff for their high level of commitment, patriotism, and professionalism displayed in implementing CSDP-AF in the state which ended on June 30, 2021.

Also speaking, the General Manager, ANCSDA, Mr Chudi Mojekwu, informed that with the dogged efforts of the Governor Obiano, Anambra CSDA became disbursement effective on August 1st, 2018, and by June 30, 2021 when the CSDP ended, the Agency had intervened in sixty-one focal poor communities and seventeen Vulnerable Groups across twelve focal poor local government areas to implement two hundred and fifty microprojects.

The estimated direct and indirect beneficiaries of those microprojects were 2,579,440 which included 957,605 direct beneficiaries, while number of permanent jobs and temporary jobs created were 81 and 3,600 respectively.

ANCSDA approved and supported 59 Community Development Plans (CDPs), 18 Group Development Plans (GDPs), and equally facilitated 50 Community Project Management Committees (CPMCs), and 17 Group Project Management Committees that implemented the micro projects in their respective communities and vulnerable groups who elected them.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget, and Development Partners, Honourable Mark Okoye, represented by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry, Dr. Daniel Ezeanwu, thanked the Agency staff for their successful completion of CSDP-AF, and promised continued support of the Government to the Agency in the new programme titled Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) Programme for Result.

In her vote of thanks on-behalf the Award recipients, the Operations Manager, ANCSDA, Mrs Uche Nwaizugbo, thanked the Governor, the Ministry, and members of the Board for their great support and conducive environment created which helped them achieve the success.

She said the award will help motivate them to do more.
