Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, 25th of November 2021, suspended its Chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike, citing insubordination and disrespect to the office of President Muhammadu Buhari as reasons for the suspension.
According to the Caretaker Chairman of the State chapter of the party – Okonkwo Okom, the decision was part of the resolution of the state congress of leaders and stakeholders to reposition the party.
He also referred Ejidike to the Disciplinary/Fact Finding Committee of the party to answer to charges of abuse of power and office, diversion and conversion of party property, breach of the party’s constitution, embezzlement and misappropriation of party’s funds, among other charges.
Reacting, Ejidike dismissed the suspension as laughable, saying those who spoke to reporters were not members of the state Executive Committee of the party.
This comes only days after Ejidike was embroiled in party squabbles over his announcement of the sacking of the publicity secretary of the party.
