The National Working Committee of the All Progressive Congress, APC, yesterday, swore into office, the former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Rivers state, Mr. Worgu Boms, to replace the suspended Deputy National Secretary of the party, Victor Giadom.
The party picked Worgu to replace Victor Giadom, on the grounds that he had resigned from his position in 2018 to be the running mate to Tonye Cole, Rivers State governorship aspirant in the 2019 election.
This decision came after Giadom went against the party authorities and declared himself the acting chairman of the party following Oshiomole’s suspension.
Over the weekend, APC members in Rivers state announced Giadom’s suspension, but he is still insisting he is the acting chairman of the APC.

Meanwhile, Victor Giadom, who declared himself as the acting national chairman of the APC, has stated that the governorship primary election in Edo state is illegal.
There has been a lot of disputes as to who is the acting Chairman of the APC, following the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole.
Osagie Ize-Iyamu was declared winner in the governorship candidate primary conducted in Edo state on Monday, but speaking through his lawyer, Victor Giadom said a fresh primary will be conducted in the state.
He said their attention has been drawn to the illegal exercise carried out by lackeys of the suspended chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole in Edo state, which he noted, was not authorized by the acting national chairman of the APC, Chief Victor Giadom and as such is illegal and futile.
The statement pointed out that the acting national chairman of the party, Chief Victor Giadom will announce to the members of the public when the stage is set for the conduct of the authentic gubernatorial primaries of the APC in Edo state.
