
The Anglican Diocese of Awka, Anambra State, has asked its members to ensure they vote during the November 6 gubernatorial election in Anambra State.
The Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, gave the advice in his Charge presented during the 2nd season of the 12th Synod of the Diocese, with the theme, “Expanding our ministerial coast: Implication for the ordained and the laity”.
Archbishop Ibezim, who is also the Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, charged them make voting in the election a priority by securing their Permanent Voter’s Cards, and to make sure they vote wisely.
Archbishop Ibezim who commended Governor Willie Obiano for building an International Cargo/Passenger Airport, as well as other achievements recorded in the State, however, drew his attention to the deplorable state of some roads in state.
He further called on the state government to intensify efforts at strengthening the state security apparatus for more secure and peaceful environment in Anambra and other South-East states.
