The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Small Business Agency, ASBA, Sir Clement Chukwuka, has declared that the agency will help deaf shoemakers in the allocation of shops and provision of equipment in the newly commissioned digital shoe factory in Ogbunike.

Sir Chukwuka gave the assurance while exchanging views with the Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Disability Matters, Barrister Chuks Ezewuzie, during the commissioning of the Digital Leather Factory in Ogbunike.

He explained that shoemakers with disabilities stand to benefit from the newly commissioned facility, as according to him, the digital leather factory is a shared facility funded by the Federal Government and designed to enhance registration, customization, and production of different designs of shoes.

Sir Chukwuka further noted that the cost of production of shoes will drastically reduce, due to the enhanced mass production capacity of the machines, resulting in efficient and timely supplies as demand increases.

Responding, Barrister Ezewuzie expressed appreciation for the inclusive and empowerment policies of the Obiano administration for entrepreneurs with disabilities.

He called on shoemakers with disabilities to form their own Cooperative societies and take advantage of the facilities made available by the Governor through ASBA for Ndi Anambra with disabilities.

It would be recalled that Vice President, Professor Osibanjo, alongside Governor Obiano had commissioned the Digital Shoe Factory built by Anambra State Government and equipped by the Federal Government at Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area recently.
