The Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder, APLSCD has yet again received medical support from their host community Agulu.
The medical outreach led by a renowned optician, Dr Nzelum, provided assorted drugs ranging from analgesic , antimalarial, antibiotics, vitamins to the association for further distribution to members. Dr Nzelum said the the Medical Mission is committed to regularly provide adequate medical care to rural persons in the community as part of their efforts to spread the Christmas cheer.
He also said that they have targeted such people living with disabilities for medical care such as ENT interventions, surgeries, counselling, physiotherapy and free distribution of drugs, while promising to sustain it as an annual project.
Receiving her share of the drugs, Mrs Aisha Edward Maduagwu expressed her appreciation to Agulu Peoples Union for the yearly gesture and promised that the drugs will be shared judiciously as it will bring a more robust health for her members. Some of the drugs were immediately shared among members of the Association who attended the Christmas party held at Austica Memorial College, Nanka.
