It was all joy in Okpo village, Ekwulobia community in Aguata LGA, Anambra State as an APGA Chieftain, Barr. Chuks Ezewuzie donated cows and cash in fulfilment of his election promise to the people of his area.
Ezewuzie had, before the November 6th election, promised his kindred and people of Okpo village in Ekwulobia, that he would reward them with a cow and cash if they vote to victory, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
The Election held and professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo emerged the winner.
It was then for Barr. Ezewuzie came back to fulfil his promise and put smiles on the faces of people who had supported him all along.
Barr. Ezewuzie presented a cow and fifty thousand naira each to his Umunna Umuezenwa kindred and Okpo village, respectively, bringing total of the gifted items to 2 cows and a hundred thousand naira.
In their separate remarks, the people expressed their appreciation to their son and prayed God to reward him abundantly for remembering them after the election.
They also reiterated their readiness to support the incoming governor at ensuring that he enjoys a colourful tenure as Anambra governor.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Umuezenwa kindred in Okpo Village, Michael Ezeagu, noted that the support for APGA went beyond the Okpo village of Ekwulobia and stressed that the party was able to garner maximum votes and support due to the belief they had in the candidacy of the APGA flag bearer.
Mr. Ezeagu thanked Barr. Ezewuzie for a promise made and fulfilled and prayed for God’s blessings upon him, his household and the entire APGA family in the state.
Additionally, he pointed out that the election had solidified APGA as the true picture of the Igbo race, noting that APGA government would do well if they are supported in piloting the affairs of the state.
Speaking, APGA ward 1 Chairman in Okpo village, Ekwulobia, Christopher Ezeigwe happiness and thanked God for the success story.
He extolled Governor Willie Obiano administration for turning around lives of persons with disabilities who were being regarded as only good at begging, to decisive members of the society and urged the incoming governor to uphold the legacies of Obiano government on the disability community and build on the foundation he already laid. .
Contributing, Mr. Francis Ezewuzie called on the in coming governor to repay the faith reposed on him by the people of the town by providing quality road networks in the area including link roads to the Ekwulobia General hospital.
Commenting, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Liaison, Barr. Anthony Ezekwuonna, said people of the area has entered into covenant with APGA for future elections and stated that Soludo’s election would help to expand the development of the state.
Presenting the gifts, Barr. Chuks Ezewuzie said he came to fulfil hi promise to them.
“The entire village of Okpo constitute a special group within our ward. I promised that if the ward deliver APGA, would receive a cow and an envelop and today we are fulfilling this promise.
“We are here to say thank the people. We thanked them because they stood by us in our famous 21/21 victory in 2017 and this period they stood by us again.”
Ezewuzie, a Special Adviser to the Governor on Disability Matters commended the grand slam victory of Soludo, a former Central Bank Governor and urged him to continue to toe the path of development which the outgoing governor had entrenched in the state.
He lauded Governor Willie Obiano for providing solid road network in the area which according to him was a nightmare to the people of the area before its construction.
