American billionaire Bill Gates and wife Melinda has announced their divorce, having lived 27 years as a couple.
Bill Gates tweeted on Monday that both of them have agreed to split from their relationships.
A statement from the duo said after a great deal of thought and a lot of work on their relationship, they have made the decision to end their marriage.
The couple who reavealed that they have raised their three incredible children over their 27years in marriage, asserted that they have built a foundation that works all over the world which enables people to lead healthy and productive lives adding, that they would continue to share a belief in that mission as well as would continue their work together at the foundation, despite not trusting to grow together as a couple in this next phase of their lives.
The development comes two years after Amazon.com Inc founder Jeff Bezos said that he and his then-wife MacKenzie had divorced.
Mackenzie, a novelist, has been spending her divorce settlement which ran into billions of dollars on charity.
