The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah has lamented that the country has become one big emergency national hospital with full occupancy.

In his Easter message to his congregation on Sunday, the bishop again spoke against the way things are happening in the country with strong words.

He said that everything has broken down, including individual hearts, churches, mosques , educational system, economy politics, energy and infrastructure , among other things. He said that it is only corruption that is alive and well.

He lamented that Nigerians can no longer recognise their country which has been battered and buffeted by men and women from the dark womb of time.

He stated that the real challenge is how to find the slippery rungs on the ladder of ascent so the citizens can climb out .

He said that though the government has slid in hibernation mode, Nigerians must make a choice to go forward, turn left or right or retune home.

He mentioned that no choice is easy to make but guided by light of the risen Christ, the country can be reclaimed from its impending slide to anarchy.

He also said that the process of reconstructing the nation should start now, as people should look behind politics and face the challenge of forming character and faith in the country and religious leaders should truthfully face the role of religion in the survival of the country .
