Boko Haram has Killed at Least 43 Farmworkers in Nigeria, Militia Says

Not less than 43 farm workers have been slaughtered by Boko Haram terrorists near Maiduguri, Borno State.

The assailants reportedly tied up the agricultural workers and slit their throats in the village of Koshobe.

Leader of Anti-jihadist militias told reporters on Saturday, that the group has recovered 43 bodies, all of them slaughtered, with six others injured.

He added that the authorities have launched a search for the attackers.

Another militiaman, Ibrahim Liman, said the victims were labourers from Sokoto State in northwest Nigeria, roughly 1,000 kilometres away, who had travelled to the northeast to find work.

He said that there were 60 farmers who were contracted to harvest paddy in the rice fields, and that Forty-three of them were slaughtered, with six injured.

He also informed that eight others were missing, presumed to have been kidnapped by the jihadists.
