Anambra State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps said yesterday, 7th October, 2020, a female adult was crushed to death and three male adults seriously injured in a fatal crash involving a white Toyota bus and a KC Sanya Motorcycle along Igboukwu – Nnewi Road.
The Acting Sector Public Education Officer, RC Kamal Musa, who disclosed this in a release in Awka, said the road crash occurred at about three o’clock in the afternoon.
According to RC Kamal, eyewitness account has it that the crash occurred as a result of excessive speeding by the bus driver, who then lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the Motorcycle.
He said the accident involved a total of Four persons, one female adult, the Motorcycle passenger who died on the spot and three male adults who sustained varying degrees of injuries eho were rushed to Apex Hospital, Igboukwu, by FRSC rescue team from Igboukwu Unit Command.
Reacting to the incident, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State CC Andrew Kumapayi, sympathized with the deceased family and wished the injured victims quick recovery.
CC Kumapayi admonished motorists to “Drive Safe and Stay Safe”, this Ember Months, and to desist from over speeding, as well as abide by the stipulated speed limits set by law to avoid road Traffic Crashes.
